Culture to Blastocyst

What is Culture to Blastocyst?

Long embryo culture in an IVF cycle allows embryos to develop to the blastocyst stage. As only the best embryos reach blastocyst, transfer on the fifth day – instead of the second or third, which This is the norm – it allows for greater selection, leading to an increase in pregnancy rates and a reduction in the risk of multiple pregnancy.

In a natural conception, it is precisely on the fifth or sixth day after fertilization when the embryo makes contact with the endometrium, giving way to pregnancy. By performing the embryo transfer in a blastocyst, the natural synchrony between the embryo and the maternal uterus is favored.
