Gravida was founded in 2010 as a center specializing in the study of infertility and the application of the most advanced assisted reproduction treatments, under the umbrella of Assistència Sanitària, a leading entity in the Catalan healthcare sector. Since then, we have been based at the Hospital de Barcelona, where we have grown to have our own laboratory and a multidisciplinary team. Later on, together with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), we created the Chair of Reproductive Medicine and Immunology, reinforcing our commitment to research and training in the scientific field.

Yes. At Gravida, we support couples of women who want to start a family, especially through the ROPA Method (Reception of Oocytes from Partner), which allows both women to actively participate in the pregnancy: one provides the eggs and the other carries the pregnancy. This technique is covered under Spanish Law 14/2006 on Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques, which legally recognizes both mothers. We also offer other options, such as artificial insemination or IVF with donor sperm, or embryo donation, depending on each person’s family plans.

Yes. We support women who choose to become mothers without a partner, offering them treatments with donor sperm, such as donor artificial insemination (IUI-D) or in vitro fertilization with donor sperm, as well as embryo donation. We tailor each treatment based on the initial fertility workup.
